We would like to give you a warm welcome to our website. We are a group of like minded people who enjoy walking in the local countryside.

The Mansfield & Sherwood Walking Group is part of the Ramblers' Association which was formed with the aim of enabling everyone to discover and enjoy the countryside of Britain on foot. Its objectives include protecting rights of way, campaigning for public access to open country in England and Wales, promoting respect of our countryside and defending its beauty. For more information about the Ramblers' Association, please click the logo at the top left of all pages. To visit the Nottinghamshire area website, click HERE.

Our group covers Mansfield, Warsop, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Not sure if you want to become a member? We don't ask you to join straight away. Whether you are an experienced walker or not, you are welcome to participate in our walks for a brief introductory period to help you make a decision about joining. After this period if you wish to continue you will be expected to enrol as a member of the Ramblers' Association.

The emphasis of our walks is not to get from A to B in as short a time as possible. We all go at our own different pace, but we have regular breaks to regroup and rest. We want our walks to be an enjoyable experience for everyone who attends them.
